Sustainability: a competitive advantage

Consumers have doubts, and companies want to address them, but fear the costs of reporting. However, there are already solutions in the market

By EC Invest

Legislative pressure on sustainability has impacted all companies, particularly the largest ones, and has been particularly pronounced in the financial sector. As a consequence, banks and other financial institutions will encourage economic agents, particularly companies, to adopt sustainable principles and actions.

Euroconsumers Invest is keeping pace with these developments. Sustainability is included in the list of criteria to be considered when selecting securities to recommend, particularly in ETFs and investment funds, even though none of the products advised to date have been classified under Article 8 or 9 of the SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation).

That is why we are pleased to announce that the range of solutions we advise is growing: PPR DECO PROteste, managed Golden SGF, our Portuguese client, is now Article 8 compliant. This means that it is a fund that invests in companies with sustainable concerns.

Performance plus environmental and social goals

Certified under the SFDR, PPR DECO PROteste formally promotes ecological and social goals while maintaining a balanced, performance-driven portfolio.

This PPR is the result of a partnership between DECO PROteste, the most significant Portuguese consumer association, and the Pension Funds Asset Manager Golden SGF. Pursuant to the management regulation of PPR DECO PROteste, Euroconsumers Invest is the Investment Advisor.

Sustainable profits

The idea behind the Article 8 fund is clear: sustainability is not a cost, but a competitive advantage. The global transition to cleaner energy, efficient infrastructure, and inclusive growth is reshaping entire sectors.

The PPR structure rewards consistent contributions and a long horizon, precisely the conditions where sustainable investing creates the most value. For those building their retirement savings, this means participating in tomorrow's economy today.

Both components are remembered by World Savings Day. Discipline and foresight usually define successful investors. However, saving wisely now means investing sustainably.

How our advisory service works

With more than two decades of experience in asset selection and investment advisory, Euroconsumers Invest applies a disciplined methodology that integrates ESG metrics into traditional financial analysis.

Every recommended asset must meet strict standards of transparency, governance, and measurable impact. The result is a portfolio where at least 80% of investments are aligned with sustainability principles, without compromising diversification (by geography, asset class and sectors) or liquidity. A new savings paradigm

This balance between return and responsibility defines a new kind of saver: one who looks beyond the next quarter and measures success in resilience.

Saving allows us not only to ensure a more comfortable financial future but also to enable transformation because the best kind of return is the one that lasts.
